The following is an excerpt when Jamie first arrives in Italy

Jamie leaned against the cabana wall, hands in his pockets and one foot crossed in front of the other, contemplating what to do next. He personified a determined man on his way to the pool, but he froze when he found her sleeping naked on the double wide lounge. He could feel his pulse beating hard in his chest. Only twenty feet to go, yet he couldn’t make his legs move. His breathing was shallow and fast. He’d made it this far, but the sight of her unnerved him. "I have been in love with her for a long time, even though I tried to convince myself otherwise. I can’t screw this up. Dear God, help me, I can’t screw this up." He approached her slow and steady, as a predator stalking its prey. He sat down on the side of the lounge. A clip held up her hair. Her arms curled above her head as she slept on a plush towel. He melted inside, savoring how soft her skin glowed. She is more beautiful than ever.He gazed at the curves of her breasts pushing out under the weight of lying on them and took in a sharp breath through his teeth. His eyes followed the curve of her back and he lingered on her hips, cheeks, and thighs. He wanted to run his fingers over the outline of her body, and he etched the sight in his mind. She was alluring. Afraid to wake her, he inhaled a deep breath for courage. The aroma of the sea air mixed with the scent of her body lotion intoxicated him.

THE ENGLANDS BOOK ONE SOPHIE Lost and Found edition by Rebecca Winkler Literature Fiction eBooks

This book has all the makings of a romance novel. Our heroine is a beautiful, recently widowed twenty-six-year-old. Her love interest is a devilishly handsome drummer, who happens to be married with children at the time of their encounter. The setting is a picturesque town of Almati. And the sex scenes are numerous and steamy.
Yet this book offers a bit more than just the average romance novel devoured by the masses. You have the edgy suspense of vengeful man who went to jail for a crime he never wished to commit. You have the scheming ex-wife trying to exact her revenge on the man who never loved her. And you have the Englands trapped in the midst of it all as they try to keep their family safe.
I loved the first third of the book and thoroughly enjoyed the last third. I was not a huge fan of the normal life in the middle, but I see the merit of it there to establish the relationship between the two main characters. The only thing to bother me about the book was my confusion at Jamie/ Sophie's knowledge of one another in the first few chapters of the novel. But after the initial confusion was over I enjoyed reading about them together as a couple. This is a fun chick lit piece for anyone who enjoys a lot of erotic content in their books.

THE ENGLANDS BOOK ONE SOPHIE Lost and Found edition by Rebecca Winkler Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I was asked by the Rebecca Winkler for an honest review of her book “The Englands, Sophie Lost And Found”.

I shed a lot of tears in the first few chapters. That is something that doesn't happen a lot when I read. I love that she had me emotionally attached to the story before anything big happened in the book. It was easy for me to relate to Sophie the main character, because of the religious and spiritual aspects that were put throughout the book. I will be reading more from this author to watch how her writing blooms!

I am giving “ The Englands, Sophie Lost and Found” a 3 out of 5 Stars. There were quite a few times that I wanted to skim through due to over explaining of a situation or having to explain every emotion that was being acted on.
The first half of the book captivated me so much that I read it in one sitting. I loved the plot--Sophie, a young woman with a gift for intuition, lost her husband tragically and moved to Italy (the home of her childhood), to start a new life. Once in Italy, Sophie learned mysteries about her childhood, but dangers from her past lurked around the corner (more accurately, across the street in the lemon groves).

As I continued reading the book, however, there were several things that I had issues with

1. I noticed a few plot holes. For instance, Sophie mentioned that she believed her father killed her mother but that issue was never resolved.

2. Dialogue throughout the book, between all the characters, was often very cheesy and Sophie often had a whiny tone.

3.Sophie's love interest chose to leave his two young children in the states to pursue a relationship with Sophie in Italy. He stayed in Italy and didn't see his children for over 4 years. He made the excuse that his wife wouldn't let him see his children. In that situation, a good father would take his wife to court if he cared about being a father to his children. Because of this, I didn't have very much respect for the Hero of the book.

4. There was a Christian element (spiritual discussions about prayer, Jesus, etc.) that didn't seem to go well with the highly erotic nature of the book. It just didn't vibe with me.

Overall I enjoyed the book, but the points above kept me from giving the book a higher rating.
Sophie Lost and Found is an erotic love story that is woven into a fabric of friendship, tragedy, mystery, and malice. While it is wholly incorrect to classify this work as humorous, for me, certain parts elicited laughter. We learn that Sophie is rather fertile along the way, so much so that I found myself thinking "NO! don't touch her again!!!" So, while it's not meant to be funny, I appreciated the chuckles.

Sophie Lost and Found opens with the 25-year old protagonist facing tragic loss as well as finding comfort with her family of friends. After some emotional tribulations, she goes abroad to handle the issues of inheriting a considerable estate after her estranged father's passing. Sophie eventually is reacquainted with the man who will be her soul mate, their attraction undeniable, although he is married with children at the moment. As the relationship with Sophie and Jaime takes shape, so do haunting secrets from the heroine's childhood that have matured now that she is living back in Italy. The author reveals where the nefarious criminals lurk in the shadows and their connections to Sophie and the reader is kept in suspense watching their devious agendas unfold. I'd be remiss if I failed to mention that once Jaime's divorce is final, his ex-wife threatens the new couple's happiness and provides an extra element of intrigue.

I am normally not a fan of either romance novels or erotica and, although this story certainly qualifies as both, there was so much more of a substantial plot that it easily held my interest. Even though I found Sophie to be something of a stereotypical whiny, rich girl, it was an enjoyable escape.

My main problem with this book was the poor formatting that was very distracting. I've seen many readers opine that a poorly-proofed book indicates a lack of respect for the audience; in this case, I really don't think the final formatting is worthy of the author's talent.
